Read Lentil

Math - Counting the beats of musical notes (fractions). Showed J a whole note, third(?) note, half note and quarter note. Put them in a measure of music and taught him how to hum it out. Cut up a paper circle into quarters to help him understand. Confused at first, but then he exclaimed, "Oh! This is just like math!" and then it really clicked for him.

SSM Workbook - pgs 28-30 - subtraction; writing math sentences; greater than less than symbols; color by number

Money - played Store. Put some prices on some knick-knacks and gave J some coins to buy them. Told him to pick his favorites as he didn't have enough money for all of them. This turned out to be a little torturous for me because J just COULD NOT decide what to buy. Should he not buy the cooler expensive things so that he could have MORE? or should he buy favorites and not have so much?? This honestly took him about 45 minutes to decide and I think took away from the actual money lesson. He did ok with counting the money out, definitely needs more work, but he was SO distracted over what he could and couldn't afford that adding the coins took a backseat. Need to think of a better game.

BPW pgs 104-105 - writing letters H & I - actually did pretty well with H, but it turned into mostly scribbles. He's having fun =)
