Read story - Lentil

FIAR Art: J

Medium - Lentil is illustrated in charcoal, but not having any, we talked about how to use pencil for drawing, shading, 2D, 3D, etc. Talked about shadows and light sources and drew some things.

Picture Detail - The artwork in Lentil is excellent, and you can almost get the entire story just out of the pictures without even reading the story. J thought this was really cool!

Architecture - Talked about the Colonel's house and how it was different from house you see today. Talked about houses from different times look different and talked about styles of houses. Would be nice to take a drive around and look at different style houses, but I don't think we can do that when gas is a million dollars a gallon.

Musical Skill - Discussed the harmonica and how Lentil wasn't good at it straight-away but had to practice all the time to get really good at it. Talked about patience, commitment, dedication and practice.

Math:

WAK flashcards - 68-75 - finished! - covered: deductive reasoning; months of the year; days of the week.

We have rarely gone over months of the year.

Now that cards are done, things that need to be focused on: fractions; large number placement; money; months of the year (name and order); counting by twos (odd or even), tally charts

SSM Workbook - pgs 25-27 - ordinal numbers; symmetry; adding, bar graphs; word problems

General: P

BPW pgs 102-103 - writing F and G - not good at all!! But he's having a lot of fun trying and he's only 4 so I'm ok with that =)

Phys Ed: J & P

Rode bikes for a while, J approx 30 minutes, P about 15. J is getting so good! Said he'd be interested in taking off the training wheels soon. Both also played some Wii Fit at night.
