FIAR: J & P

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening by Robert Frost

Short week for poem - end of week for mid-year review

Language - Poetry

Talked about some qualities of a poem may have and what they mean: repetition; rhyme; rhythm; personification; alliteration; onomatopoeia

Found examples of alliteration in poem

Rhyme Scheme - Rhyme scheme for this poem is AABA. Looked at some A.A. Milne poems and figured out rhyme schemes, ex. ABAB, ABBA and one crazy one AAAAAABBA - funny one!

Discussed how poets usually use sound as the strongest quality of the poem and what sounds pleasing to themselves and the reader. Content is very important as well, but should be secondary. Without that, it's just a bunch of words, not a poem.
