FIAR: J & P
Stuck with Cranberry Thanksgiving so we could do the bible study as it had a LOT of good stuff in it.
Giving Thanks - Psalm 92:1-2 Giving thanks to the Lord and singing His praises; Genesis 8 When Noah finally landed the ark, his first action was t9o build an altar and thank the Lord; Luke 7:38-50 Woman cleans Jesus feet with her tears and hair - showing that Jesus has paid the ultimate price for us, we should give him thanks in all things at all times for we have been forgiven much!
Stealing - Exodus: 15, 17 You shall not steal; you shall not covet. Explained how important the 10 commandments are and defined covet. J and P got way into this lesson and gave lots of examples of coveting. Jeremiah 2:26 speaks about the shame a thief feels when caught. Ephesians 4:28 not only tells you not to steal or covet, but to work for things =)
Forgiveness - Matthew 18:21-35 - J loved this lesson because he remembered it from another lesson. He remembered the story very well and I compared it to our own lives, God forgiving us for the ultimate sin of crucifying Christ and how awful it would be for us not to forgive someone for an offense of far less magnitude.
Judging - 1 Samuel 16:7 - Great verse! "But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the LORD sees not as a man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart."
Then moved onto:

The Glorious Flight by Alica and Martin Provensen
J & P and I all loved this book. Very well written, fun, creative and imaginative drawings and a true story!
Social Studies day
Talked about the relationship between the Bleriot family
Geography - Looked on world map to find Cambrai France, the English Channel and the White Cliffs of Dover in England
Culture and History - Talked about all the weird French names of all the people in the story. I was glad it was brought up because J kept commenting on the weird names all throughout the book.
Geography - Flags - supposed to do this today but did not have construction paper. Will pick it up on Wednesday for a fun project
