FIAR: J & P

Mixed day

Art - Contrast - talked about complementary colors. We went over this some last year, but J didn't remember. Made a color wheel from construction paper and discussed complementary colors, primary/secondary colors and warm/cool colors.

Math - Geometry - found page in book that had a patchwork quilt and identified the geometrical shapes in it.

Science - Safety - Talked about what items would be necessary for a kit if the power ever went out from a storm. Made a list and made a plan to buy them all on our next shopping trip and find a good easy place to store it when it's all ready.

Five senses - Made a list of all 5 senses and when they were talked about in the story (if at all). Tried closing our eyes to see if we could hear better and it worked. J & P love it.

Math: J

SSM Workbook pgs 92-93 - Writing down addition and subtraction sentences derived from word problems and solving. Working with bar graphs.

Coloring: J
