Writing/Spelling: J

Started out with spelling test - said the words sun, top, cat and pray and J wrote them down. He spelled them all right but got confused on the p for some reason in 'top' and put the line on the wrong side. Gave him a 75% and he begged me to let him do it over again. We repeated the test after the rest of the schoolwork was over and he got a 100%. =)

Ch 9 of Beatles book - The Beginning of the End - reviewed some Beatle facts after reading was done. Two chapters to go.

Calendar: J

Reviewed months of the year. Put some birthdays down on each month as I thought it might help to remember the order of the months - whose birthday comes before whose, etc.

Math: J

SSM Workbook - pg 44 - addition and subtraction with number families. Given a set of three numbers (ex. 1, 4, 3) and have to make 2 addition problems and 2 subtraction problems out of it. J did really well!

FIAR: J & P

Art - Unity of theme through color - talked about illustrators use of colors, especially yellow, throughout the book to tie the story together and give it a good flow.

Bible - Talked about deception and lying (Genesis 3) an the importance of always telling the truth, and confessing when you don't tell the truth (John 8:32; 1 John 1:9). Also talked about good stewardship of your responsibilities (Luke 15)

Lesson 4 of 100EL - saying words slow and fast, letter sounds: s, m & short a

Phys Ed: J, P & C

Outside to play while I make lunch! =)
