Read A Pair of Red Clogs by Masako Matsuno; 1960
Geography - Went and found Japan on world map - talked about what an island is. Also talked about how far away Japan is from NJ and how that probably makes our cultures pretty different.
Culture - Went through book and pointed out all the things they do differently in Japan - architecture, clothing, hairstyles, food, the way they eat (chopsticks, very short tables), writing
Relationships - talked about lying and how doing so can make people not trust you. We should always tell the truth! etc.

Beatles book - ch 7 - Beatlemania!
Math: J
Money - asked J to make certain amounts of money with coins on hand. Has trouble remembering that 3 quarters = .75 Does well with everything else.
SSM Workbook - pgs 38-39 - geometric shapes; tally marks; subtraction
Months - Introduced the names of all the months and what seasons they fall in. Just starting, didn't go far into it. Just said the names and seasons.

J read chs. 42 & 43 of LPP
P did extremely well! on Lesson 1 of "Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons" book. We'll see if he catches on better than in August, looking good so far! =)
