How to Make an Apple Pie and See the World by Marjorie Priceman
Social Studies - Geography (and lots of it!)
To make an apple pie, the girl in the story (nameless) goes to Italy to get wheat, France to get a chicken (for an egg), Sri Lanka to get tree bark for cinnamon, England to gt a cow for it's milk, Picks up some seawater while crossing the Atlantic Ocean for salt, to Jamaica for sugar and then to Vermont for 8 apples (one for the cow, one for the chicken, one for her and five for the pie).
Went downstairs to world map and picked out all the locations, then back up to look through the book to learn new things about each country by the pictures.
FUN!!!

pgs 26-27 - matching similar words, money, synonyms, calendar/holiday, subtraction, identifying verbs
Math: J
Time & Money workbook - pgs 18-19 - identifying time on a clock - some trouble here!!! Not used to identifying time on clocks that are in between 5's; ie 8:42, 10:27, 7:01, etc. But after a lot of hard work and determination, he got it!

Spelling words for week: week, lips, rock, truck, ball
