Read Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel by Virginia Lee Burton
Social Studies - History
Talked about steam powered vehicles and talked about how most things are powered now. I talked about gasoline, electricity, betteries. J said, "solar power!". What a smartie.
Stewardship
Talked about taking care of things we own and responsibilities we have. J was very into this conversation and felt it was really improtant to take care of things and do your best.
Flexibility
Asked J if he knew what flexibility meant and he said no. So I reread the end of the story where Mike and Mary Anne are willing to give up their old job and start a new one. J then took off on that and talked about being happy with whatever you're doing and giving it your very best. =)
