Talked about all the different land types in America

Talked about pollution and why it's important to take good care of the environment. Recycle, don't litter, etc.

Talked briefly about birds. Could have gotten a little more into it, but I just hate birds.

Math: J

SSM Workbook - pgs 70-71 - writing out word problems into math sentences and solving; Number puzzles. Taught a bit of basic algebra today! J was having trouble with 12-8=? so I told him if he could figure out what you have to add to 8 to equal 12, that would be the answer. Excitement ensued! ; )

Writing: J

4 spelling words for week - warned him that the test is tomorrow! So he wrote each word one extra time =)

Chs 10-13 of LPP

Reading: P

Repeated lesson 17 of 100EL.

At first P was very disheartened to have to repeat a lesson, but I told him it was no big deal and that J had to do that sometimes, too. Told him he is still very smart! But sometimes when you have trouble, it is better to practice what you are having trouble with until you get it right than go ahead and continue to have lots of trouble. He felt better and we did the lesson and he did so much better and he was SO PLEASED! Onto lesson 18 tomorrow!
