Forgot to give a shout out on birthdays yesterday. Happy birthday boss. =)

Language -
Story Writing - Character - talked about the variety of characters in the book; young, old, male, female, mean,happy, imaginative, etc. This is a good way to make a story interesting. Then made a list of fun characteristics of people J knows and turned it into one character: Saul, young boy, loves Red Sox, gardening, helping people, listening to music and is silly.
Elements of story - identified setting, conflict, action, climax, 2nd conflict, 2nd climax and outcome.
Personification - defined personification and asked how he thought it fit in the story and he said "Mary Anne!" Then discussed other things people might personify, ie cars, homes, stuffed animals, etc.
Vocabulary words - cellar and canal. Showed J Panama Canal on world map... in the cellar =)

Colored pic in ER coloring book to mail to the guy who took Jesse's x-rays when his arm broke.

writing out 5 spelling words
