FIAR: J & P

Language - Humor in Writing - some ways you can use humor in a story: unexpected conclusions, actions, silly interpretations, etc. Talked about all the parts of the book J & P thought were funny and discussed what made them funny. J compared it to Mary Poppins and the funny things that happened in the movie. Good stuff!

Repetition - Using repetition can cause a story to have good flow. I asked J where repetition was used and he came up with pics in the story instead of phrases used! Each thing she collected in one country was brought to the next. What a smartie!

Vocabulary words: Ingredients, superb, locate, elegant, persuade, native, plantation. He was able to explain ingredients, superb, locate, and plantation without any help from me!
